A Sunrise shot at Bear Lake in the States during Winter.
We arrived at Bear Lake travelling on Route 89 to get to Yellowstone National Park. Where ever we could we would take a scenic route whilst travelling in the States. This was one of those sonic routes.
We arrived at Bear Lake at about 5.00 pm, as the Sun was starting to go down. The scene was beautiful, the Mountains in the distance were a hue of pale pink in the light of the setting Sun.
We had to find a place to stay for the night, and everything seemed closed down.
Making enquiries we found someone that could rent us a room for the night with a gas fireplace.
That sounded great.
In the morning I was determined to capture the
beautiful lake with the distant mountains behind it.
So I got up when it was still dark, and went outside with my tripod and camera And gloves.

It was freezing cold, and overnight the clouds had come in bringing lots of Snow.
I could hardly see anything.
I persisted in the cold and waited for the Sun to make a show of itself.
Finally there was a break above the horizon of the Lake.
Some light could be seen. I couldn't focus on the mist,
so I had to focus on the Tree in the front
To get anything worth capturing.
It was beautiful place for a stopover highly recommend it, Winter or Summer.
We had to dig our car out of the Snow before leaving that is how much it snowed overnight. I hope this inspires you to go off the main HWY's and take the scenic route when Travelling in the States.
Always surprise in store for you. The great unknown.
